Shanane Davis is a Director for Olkaan Nishtah.
Her passion and expertise in the preservation and revival of historic Indian arts and connoisseurship. Cherishing the tradition of material cultural education, she has revived multiple different sophisticated Indian art mediums. Her and Adhiraj Singh’s luxury brand and craft revival initiative Olkaan Nishtah is a centre for students, scholars, art collectors, and luxury consumers to learn about and acquire South Asian material culture and its intellectual thought process. She is the chief designer for Olkaan Nishtah, teaching artisans and artists working with Olkaan Nishtah revival techniques on traditional Indian craft and art mediums, oversees quality control and ensures high level aesthetics for Olkaan Nishtah’s Luxury Goods. She is the author of the book The Bikaner School Usta Artisans and Their Heritage as well as speaking and contributing to articles and platforms for Indian art and culture history and revival. Her Ted Talk given at the Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law was – The Bharat Brand, the history and patronage of India’s Artisanal Luxury Products. She has a unique style of teaching by storytelling taking students and collectors into the past with enchanting narratives. She is dedicated to the cause of conserving, reviving and promoting the fine and decorative arts of India.

Adhiraj Singh Devra’s enthusiasm and expertise in the arts of the martial castes of South Asia was obtained through the historic Shaashtra Kala spiritual discipline. He is a national level medalist for shooting and has travelled around the world for shooting competitions representing India. His education and commitment to historic art processes, craft revival, conservation and for the return of Bikaner as a South Asian cultural capital. He has been nurtured for years under the connoisseurship system passed town within his family for 14 generations. His and Shanane Davis’s luxury brand and craft revival initiative Olkaan Nishtah is a centre for students, scholars, art collectors, and luxury consumers to learn about South Asian material culture and its intellectual thought process. He believes in the tradition of material cultural education and combines both historic knowledge of Indian arts with a new contemporary thought process for preservation and revival.
